While posts may contain advice and suggestions to perform actions, you must understand that overclocking has all the potential to be a destructive process with irreversible results. This reddit may be used for providing and requesting help with overclocking processes. But, to be fair, even with manually optimized OC you won't get very far on a higher-model CPU, there's just not much headroom left to exploit.A place to share information, help those who are new to overclocking and brag about your latest sucessful overclock! IMPORTANT This all makes power consumption and heat production skyrocket, without improving performance anywhere near as much. It also doesn't take into account the best way to utilize the turbo modes, and the intelligent power management gets mostly cancelled. It will apply too much voltage (VCore), because MSI wants to make it work with all types of CPUs of varying quality. But even if there was a lot of headroom, this would be the worst overclocking method there is, because it is very unspecific to the individual CPU. ![]() All the higher CPU models don't have any overclocking headroom anyway, since Intel uses high VCore and high frequencies with the turbo modes to squeeze most of the performance out of them already. You are right in wanting to turn it off (although it should already be disabled by default). There are three different names for the automatic CPU overclocking function on MSI boards, depending on the board model: "Game Boost", "OC Genie" or "Creator Genie". ![]()
